Notes of Gratitude

April 14, 2022 By Christine

“I wanted to drop you a note that I finished my final therapy session last week at Fox Chase Cancer Center and yesterday I had my mammogram w/ ultrasound.
A follow up with my breast surgeon same day and he told me NDE (No Evidence of Disease) A new term for remission!! I am so happy! I feel so good. I would say 90% of what I was before my diagnosis 2 years ago.
I cannot thank you again for the gift of the gas cards. I needed every one of them especially with the spike in gas prices …. it really was a choice of continuing treatment or not. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. When I am on my feet I will donate the money back into the fund so someone else can benefit as I did.”

“Thank you so very much for your very generous donation towards Aurora’s fight with the gas cards you sent. I can not describe to you just how much these gift cards for gas help our family and our situation during this time frame in Aurora’s fight with Leukemia. We are so very grateful and extremely blessed that your overly generous hearts are helping out families such as ourselves in such a difficult time. Your daughters story is extremely admirable and we are so blessed by her and you all. Thank you all so very much. God Bless each of you!”

Love and Light, The Davis Family

My name is Robinette. I am 53 and am battling stage 4 cancer of my colon, liver and lungs. Today my social worker from St. Luke’s Quakertown, gave me a GIANT gas gift card from your foundation. Thank you for helping others in need. Your gift prompted me to go the the Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund website. I read Krysta’s story. What you are doing to help others is a wonderful way to honor her memory. I saw her photograph and she was beautiful. I am sure she was just as beautiful on the inside. Again, thank you for helping others. Much Love &  Respect, Robinette

I would like to thank the Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund for it’s donation to my family through our time of need. We are very grateful and wish you all continued success. It is work like this that continues to make this world a better place. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you very much. Sincerely, The Holder Family

Thank you for the gift cards you brought to our home a few weeks ago. Chris is now out of the hospital and feeling much better. The gift cards will help when we have to travel to Boston In July. Christopher requires 24/7 care and I no longer work to serve his needs and that of his brother Matthew. It is a job I never want to give up. Thank you for your service in memory of Krysta. I am sorry for your loss. She looked like such a beautiful and happy young woman. It is an honor to briefly know her through your pamphlet.  Best regards, The Weber family

Thank you so much for supplying our family with gas cards. We are eternally grateful that you supplied us with the means to get back & forth to the hospital and Dr. visits. It is so wonderful that your organization does this. May God bless you always. Julie & Mike Rossi and family

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the food/gas cards. They really came in handy. Jeff is not doing well although he is cancer free-thank God. They just can’t pinpoint what is wrong. God bless you both for you kindness & generosity. You are special people and loved by all. Jeff & AnnMarie

As the grandmother of a 12 year grandson being treated for a brain tumor at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, I want to thank “Krysta Cares” for the Giant Gas cards. While I live just south of Philadelphia, Jackson lives 300 miles from CHOP – in Chesapeake, VA. Our whole family works together transporting him for his weekly treatments, enabling him to attend school most days and his parents to keep working to support the family. While many weeks of treatment were provided at The Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Norfolk, VA ,for the past several months his treatment of choice is not offered there- necessitating a 600 mile round trip. We ALL sincerely appreciate the financial support . Every bit makes a huge difference in our efforts to restore Jackson’s vision and health. Thank you.

We drive 90 minutes each way to take our grandson to his OT and Speech therapy sessions. This week we were handed a gift card from your fund. We wanted to write to thank you for your most thoughtful and generous gift. We appreciate it more than you can know and are deeply touched by how you have used Krysta’s passing to help so many people. God bless you! If we can EVER do anything to help you, all you have to do is ask. With all our thanks and deepest appreciation, the family of Samuel Ogden

We just wanted to thank you for your donation toward our transportation expenses in getting to Good Shepherd. Krysta was and is a beautiful soul. We are praying for a full recovery and it’s people like you who touch our heart-strings, who care and make a difference as Krysta had done in the Lehigh Valley. God bless you.

“Words cannot express how thankful we are for the gas cards. We travel to CHOP once a week for Wyatt to be seen at the Oncology clinic. The gas cards are very helpful. Thank you so much.”

“We wanted to send a personal note of heartfelt thanks for the gas card. We have received a few from your daughter’s fund. It has been such a blessing to receive these gifts. That is one less thing to worry about. Our daughter is doing well and is blessed to have a facility like CHOP so close to home. Thanks again.”

Thank you so much for taking the time to care for and to help many families like my own that you have never even met.  The story of turning your loss into support for those in need is truly inspiring.  Your gas card is very handy when having to travel between home and CHOP for continued care and visits.  Thank you for caring.  It’s nice to know that you carry Krysta’s spirit along through your many good deeds.

We wanted to express our sincere gratitude to the Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund for the generous gas cards. We will be driving to CHOP in Philadelphia from the Lehigh Valley 5 days a week for 6 weeks for our little 6 year old girl, Bellsie, to receive radiation treatments for an inoperable tumor. An already very stressful time has been made just a little bit easier with a blessing like this – we are speechless and so very grateful. Please know that your daughter’s spirit is helping our daughter, and we are so very blessed this fund will be a part of our little girl’s journey.

Forever grateful and in love and peace – Bellsie and her family

Krysta, daughter of Bill and Chris Hankee, collapsed while exercising in a gym in New York City in September of 2007, at the age of 22, and died a few days later.  She loved her friends, family and community.  She graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School in 2003 where she excelled as a student and athlete.  Krysta attended The American University in Washington, D.C. for two years and was a member of the American University Field Hockey Team (Patriot League Champions).  She was a Patriot League Scholar Athlete both years.  Krysta graduated from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University in Manhattan in 2007, with a degree in Marketing and Foreign Business.  Upon graduation she secured employment as an assistant project manager at Triangle Equities of Whitestone, New York where she worked until her tragic death.
