Golfers Support Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital Families

December 3, 2024 By Christine

The Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund held a three-day event at Olde Homestead Golf Club to support families transporting children to Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital, the third largest children’s hospital in Pennsylvania, offers the most comprehensive care for children in our community from primary care to pediatric specialties. The hospital provides specialized, advanced, family-centered care. It is supported by over thirty pediatric specialties and provides 24/7 Children’s Emergency Room service and inpatient intensive care.

Club members and visitors paid $20 to win tournament type prizes in their regular round of golf. Each $20 donation goes directly to the Hospital Family Service department. On each of the three days, golfers were welcomed by Bill and Chris Hankee and offered the chance to win the closest to the pin challenge on four holes. They also had the chance to win the same prize in a blind draw at the end of the three days. The prize options were the winner’s choice of a $75 gift card for Olde Homestead or a $100 donation to The Children’s Hospital in the winner’s name. We are happy to report that some of the thirteen winners donated their prize to the Hospital. Hole prize sponsors were, 8 Oaks Farm Distillery, Ken and Jean Zellner, Christman’s Septic Service, William Trembler TS Advisors LLC, Livengood Excavators Inc., Walnutport Door Company, Ray & Hope Thorne, Jim & Jill Tilney, Harding Funeral Home Inc, Glen and Sally Smith, Sharon and Randy Prymock, and The Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund. Door Prize Sponsors were A.F. Boyer Hardware & Guns and The Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund.

Closest to the Pin Winners: Day 1- Melissa Redman, Brad Bender, Josh Finkelstein, Lee Zeisloft.
Day 2- Leigh Getty, Charlie Preidiger, Lou Ditonno, Dave Fiorillo. Day 3- Phil Lansendorfer, Trevor Herrick, Aaron Steinmetz, Darren Tetz. Blind Draw winner was Larry Pritchard. On October 28, several Sponsors, Club personnel and Chris & Bill Hankee met for lunch on the patio of Olde Homestead for lunch and to present a $6,600.00 check to Kelly McCready representing Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital.

Congratulations to the winners and special thanks to all participants, Homestead Director of Golf Kevin Edwards, Homestead General Manager Justin Smith, Homestead Staff and Prize Sponsors. This donation will provide much help to families as we enter this Holiday Season.
